Self Portrait.
This is me. Today is the last day of photography. Our final assignment was a self portrait or a portrait of another person. Since I did a portrait of another person, I did one of myself.

Portraits - Willow and Jung Jin
Willow. Sister. Best Friend. 12. She is a great person to model for me. She always helps out with my photography projects and I am so thankful for her doing that.
Jung Jin. Korean Exchange Student. 6th Grade. Funny. Friend. Jung Jin has been staying with my family for 2 weeks now and she is funny and my family enjoys having her around. Jung Jin knows english very well which is good because everyone can understand her. You can hold an hour long conversation with her which is also very good because she likes to tell people about Korea and her home and siblings.
Here they are together. They have been great friends since Jung Jin has gotten here. They are always together and they are enjoyable to be around.

Water.
This picture turned out very well. The shutter speed was 1/30, the aperture was f 3.5 and the focal length was 5mm. I would not change anything about this picture. I like it a lot.
The shutter speed on this picture was 1/30, the aperture was f/ 3.5 and the focal length was 5mm. The thing I would change about his picture would have to be the land on the top right hand corner. I wanted to crop that out but I could not do that with out cropping out the ice in the upper left hand corner.
The shutter speed in this picture was 1/50, the aperture was f/ 4.0 and the focal length was 5mm. Just like the top picture, there is nothing I would change about this picture. I like it in black and white rather than in color.

Double Exposer.
This is my favorite one. The theme is land and water. I think this was a clever idea and they are both pictures that I really like when they are not combined.
This is a combination of old and new. The tree, as you can see, is old and falling apart and the twig is newer. The tree trunk is black and white and the picture of the twig is in color. That is what I like about this picture.
This one is a classic. The piano with the piano notes on the top of it. What a good picture!

Christmas 2011
This is a decoration on our tree. It is from a wedding. Last year, in 2010, our friends got married on New Years Eve and they had everyone that was at their wedding take a few decorations for their tree.
This is our Christmas tree this year. It is 13 feet high and about 7 feet wide. We always get a very big tree. We did not have room for a star at the top so the star is just hanging inside the tree somewhere.
This decoration on the tree was from a student at my mom's school. This is most likely my favorite one because my favorite movie of all time is "How The Grinch Stole Christmas."
This is my sister. She is laughing at my brother who is just being himself. I quick took the shot and it turned out very well. I turned it to black and white because the color of the door behind her did not look good.
This is the nativity scene that we have in our house. Ever since I can remember, we have had about 4 nativity scenes in our house. My sister really likes to decorate. I choose to turn it to black and white as the color in the picture was the best color and plus it looked so much better in black and white.
This was made by a lady who passed away about 4 or 5 years ago. My mom and her were close and before she knew she was sick, she liked to make crafts and other good things. She made this for us out of a lightbulb and painted it like Santa Clause.

Kevin Irby Report
This picture was hard to copy. With all of the shadows and dark spots in the picture, I was hard. I re did it because the picture that I edited before did not look to good. This one looks some what better. The shadows were very hard to copy but I think it turned out kind of good.

Giants and Ants.
This is my hard select photo. There is a mailbox with 3 of me on it and then in the background I am also hanging from a tree. Hope you like it!

Re-Post Edit
The top picture is the original picture. What could be changed in this picture? Well, I would like the snow to actually look white and I would like Cooper to have more color to his fur.
This is the edited picture. I love this picture! With a little help from my teacher, this picture turned out very well. What we did to fix this picture was we feathered the picture. If you look closely you can see that the snow around the edge of the picture is darker then the actual snow around Cooper. That is because we feathered it. He also has more darker colors to his fur which is a good thing. I love this picture.
This is the original picture. What could be changed in this picture is the fact the the shoe is kind of dirty and there is dark spots on it. I liked this picture but I figured it needed some work.
This is the edited picture. As you can see, the shoe is not dirty anymore. That is because I cloned the clean parts of the shoe and made it look more clean the usual. I also boosted up some of the contrast, which makes the shoe look darker. I like how the stars are a little hidden in the edited picture but in the original picture, the stars are right there. I like that difference.
This is the original picture. I really did not like this picture in the beginning. I never used it for anything. I thought it was a bad picture. So, I figured I would give it a shot editing it.
This is the edited picture. I like it a lot more than the original picture. I just looks so much nicer and better. I boosted up the contrast and cropped some of the picture out that was not necessary for the picture and that turned out much better also. I finally like this picture! I believe it turned out very nice and neat!

One More Centered Composition
This is my road. This picture is appealing to my eye in the way that the snow sits on the trees and the way the car tracks on the road are going off into the distance just like the road is.
Centered Composition
The snow is finally here! The assignment for this weekend was to shoot pictures that were centered composition. This means that the object that you are shooting has to be in the middle of the screen. This is my dog Cooper. I like this picture in color but to me it looked better in black and white. The snow looks very white and it almost makes you wonder what he is looking at. This picture turned out very well in my opinion.
This is a picture if Cooper's paw print in the snow. This picture was also in color and the snow looked blue. I turned it into black and white and it looked so much better! These are my centered composition pictures. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Best Of...
This picture is my most favorite picture out of all of the pictures that I have taken and trust me, there is a lot! What I like about this picture is that you can see the geese flying through the sky and all of the different colors in the sky are appealing to the eye. I love this picture and I hope you do too!
This picture to me is mysterious. The original picture was in color and the reflection of the trees in the water were upside down. I then flipped the trees to be right side up and made the picture black and white. To me, it looks better this way (in black and white) and not in color.
This picture is amazing to me. The way the water looks and the way the color of the leaves stick out and pop out of the water. If you look closely, you can also see the speckles on the rocks that are in the water. This picture took me a long time to edit with a little help from my teacher, it turned out very very well.

Texture
This is my texture project. Both of these were taken Thanksgiving Day. The top picture is cranberry salad and the bottom picture is the cherry pie my mom made. I like these pictures because in the cranberry salad you can really see the cranberries and the marshmallows that are in the salad. I also like the picture of the cherry pie as if you look closely, you can see the sugar on top of the pie. Enjoy!

Just A Typical Day
The project this time was to take pictures of what you do on a typical day. This is me getting ready for school Monday morning. The pictures are me laying in bed, doing my hair, putting on my make-up, eating sliced pineapple for breakfast and brushing my teeth. I had a lot of fun with this project. It is unique and unusual but I liked it. I like it is cool to see what my classmates are going to post and to see what they do in the morning and throughout the day. Hope you like it!

ABC's
This is my ABC's report. We were assigned to take pictures of the ABC's but they could not be the real letter. They had to be something that looked like the letters but wasn't actually the letter. This project was hard, and confusing. But overall, I liked a good challenge. Some of the letters were very hard to find. I searched and searched for the letter Y and the letter A. I think that they were the most complicated letters to find. But after I took the picture of the letter A, I loved it! If you cannot tell, it is a swing set. And I think the funniest picture is the O. It is a roll of toilet paper! I think that the letter J is a very unique one as it is the Nike symbol from my tennis shoes. Cool right! Well these are my ABC's, Hallie Style!

CD Project
Back Cover
This is my CD project. The top picture is the back of the CD. The name of my artist is Scotty Cozy and he also plays the best classical music on a piano. I really enjoyed doing this project but it was also kind of nerve racking and it took a lot of time. I think that coming up with the song titles was the hardest because you just had to think of random song titles. It may seem easy but it really was not that easy.Front Cover
This picture is the front of the CD cover. This is my favorite one out of the 3 sides and think it turned out really well. As I was taking the pictures, it was hard to make them look like they do. I adjusted the contrast to make the keys stick out a little more and there was also kind of a brownish tint to them so I also made them black and white. This on turned out very well in my opinion and it is my favorite.Inside Cover
This is the inside cover. The inside cover I just wanted to make simply and easy. I just pasted two pictures onto a blank document and called it good. But I also did turn up the contrast and made it black and white as this picture had a brownish tint to it. The project took me almost a week to complete but I believe that it was worth it. I very much did enjoy this project and I hope you enjoy looking at them!

One More Random.
This picture was originally in color and it did not look to well. I liked the picture overall but the color didn't fit the picture. With all the colors from the trees and the grass and sky, it was to busy. So I thought to myself, "What if the picture was in black and white?" So I tried it and what do you know, I like it much much better in black and white. The last thing I did to the picture was turned the contrast up so the grass, tress, and sky you be darker so only the fuzzy grass would stick out. This picture turned out very well.
Random.
Yum! These are some fresh homemade cookies that my mom and I made a couple weekends ago. They are snickerdoodles. They are also my favorite kind of cookie. What I like about this picture is that you can really see the cinnamon and sugar on the cookies. All in all, this picture turned out better then I thought it was going to turn out.

Helen Sotiriadis Report
This top picture is the picture I took to match a picture that Helen Sotiriadis took. The picture Sotiriadis took will not show up in picture form on m blog so I have the URL for the picture posted below. I tried my best to copy the best I could and I think I did pretty good, getting the same colored M&M's in the picture and all that good stuff. Enjoy!
